Authentic education is not what is really happening in our school system. We are in an outdated environment. When someone walks into most public schools in America today, it looks so similar to when I went to school 50 years ago. Not much has changed the curriculum and books are almost all the same, only changes I’ve seen is inequitable access to some technologies. And yes, I continue to be be asked to teach the same curriculum , that does not center around the student.
Can we create a new curriculum to better serve our students with a more authentic education based on them, the student, and move forward to create a difference?
